Hi Tom,
A year or so ago eithe ABJ or Bee Culture-I think it was the latter, had an
article on drones with "abnormal" eye color.  I put it in quotations because
eye color is genetic and other than what is considered normal is nothing
more than the expression of a genetic recessive.  The journal with the
article had a picture of one of these drones on the cover.  I will see if I
can find the magazine with the article and let you know the month and year.
