"and 2) a hive tool pocket."

I always wear a carpenter's tool belt. It has numerous pockets to hold useful bits and pieces (lighter, queen cage, marking pen, wedge etc) and the metal slot designed for a tape measure is perfect for holding the hive tool. There are also leather loops which hold the smoker, which has a coat hook screwed to the back of the bellows for that purpose.
