There is a British Organization calld IBRA (I believe) (International Bee
Research Organization?) that recently published a book entitled "Bumblebees
For Profit And Pleasure" that may provide you with the info you need on
Bumblebees.  I think it sells for about $8.00 US. They have a Web Site..so
perhaps you could search for that.
 
Maybe one of our British Beekeepers could give you more specific info on
IBRA, it's Web Site, or its address.
