That's redundant. Morphometrics _is_ measuring. It literally means "shape and size measuring." These factors are important in evaluating plants and animals. No one wants to buy the runty, deformed or lopsided. In fact, there is a field of research called Fluctuating Assymetry. 

Sorry should have said "using".  Not my point,  my point was agreeing with you in that we have nothing to evaluate a good queen from a bad other than looking at them,  its to a point where  a research group is supporting  a concept of "pretty" queens as grade A.....

In the end this means absolutely nothing in the bees ability to lay or resist mites or make honey.   We as humans can't pick a good queen from a bad until after they perform.
