Hey David,
Long time no talk to.

>you must be having flash backs to the 60's or something.

I think about the 60's a lot! I lost a lot of sleep worrying about
foulbrood back then. Foulbrood seems pretty minor today.

>I' m not a fan of it, but it is put out with specialized equipment,
>injected under the trees canopy and not broadcast on the ground, it's much
>to costly per pound for that, and not legal.

One has to wonder how temik was applied when the grower did not want to
spend the money on a specialized injection equipment. I have heard
injection saved money for the large grower but those i have spoke with said
broadcast was used and none said was against label. David i could be wrong
but what I was told. I might try to pull up a temik label off the net.

The bag of temik I looked at was at a persons house with a couple dozen
orange trees. On the bag the label I looked at did not say that temik HAD to
be injected. Also none of the people (not beekeepers as we always follow the
label) I spoke with had an applicators license. They said temik was easy to
find in rural Florida. As easy as drugs I think was the reply.

Are your bees still gentle David considering the new genetics in your area?
A friend in Volusia county said he has seen a few very hot hives lately but
only a very very small percent of his hives. Maybe you could give those
aggressive hives with AHB genetics a dose of phased out temik?
