Good luck with that. I find his arguments so circuitous that I am never sure what he is trying to say. 

On the other hand, it's pretty clear that the most successful beekeepers are the ones that are keeping bees proactively, much the same as farmers. They can't afford to wait till a pest gets completely out of hand, they take measures knowing from experience what the consequences are likely to be if they don't. For example, I have known for years that if you don't knock the mites down in August (in this area) most hives will be wrecked by the end of September.
