i am working with a beekeeper who has a tracheal mite problem. He has lost
500 plus colonies. He claims to have reduced his infestation by using
spirits of peppermint on a pad on the top of the frames. Counts of adult
mite went from 74% of hive infested to 50% in 7 days. This coming season he
was planning to using three treatments 5 days apart. Does anyone have any
experience with this treatment or any comments?

Thanks for any suggestions

Kim Patten.
