Peter is absolutely right.  Its a hunch, same as the 'hunch' by the  German 
physicist who started the cell phone causes CCD media frenzy.  The  actual 
paper was a mathematical projection, followed by an initial study that  
failed to prove the hypothesis.
 
To progress, we need to form hypothesis, some may be just a hunch, some may 
 be based on inference from other studies and information, but just because 
one  can conceive something, doesn't make it so.
 
That's the jump that the media, the public, and sometimes beekeepers want  
to make.  Unfortunately, I also see researchers doing the same - and we're  
supposed to have been trained to be objective.
