Discussion of Bee Biology,[log in to unmask],Internet writes:
Has anybody ever observed a hive swarm to a new hive
of a distance less than two miles from the original hive?

Honeybees frequently swarm at my home and take up residence in empty
bee equipment stored in my backyard. Someone else will have to post the
minimum distance that a new home has to be from the old colony.
