Greetings all
I also was in that room with Bob et al and listened very carefully to the
beeboost presentation
I also was the first to ask questions and I used the words like homeostasis
and stress and abondonment of brood in order to bring in more than they
actually need. Queen stress was questioned by one of the oba research
associates pointing out that laying at a natural rate may be altered .
Attempts were made to answer but in one reply we were told that we were way
ahead of them in our concerns. One of those concerns was stimulation of
swarming, with no real answer to that. Interestingly it was pointed out that
life of the forager was shortened.
Also effects on different bee races, pointing out for example that Russians
refrain from laying if there is a dearth.

As Randy stated they are quite transparent in all aspects of divulging
information .
My perspective is that they have a long way to go but they did try to
present a cost analysis to justify use in that dollars were to be made in
the end.
Our group that went didn't buy into this at all. Interestingly, there was
only one large beekeeper in the room and this was well advertised.
