Kittatinny Archaeological Research, Inc. (KAR) of Stroudsburg,
Pennsylvania, is seeking an individual to fill the position of Editor. The
applicant should have experience with various word-processing and data
manipulation programs including Corel WordPerfect, Corel Paradox, Microsoft
Word, and Microsoft Excel. The applicant should also have experience with a
number of illustration and CAD applications, for example Corel Draw, Adobe
Illustrator, and AutoCAD.

The successful applicant will be able to draw together various media into
completed archaeological site reports in a timely manner. This involves the
editing of text, the preparation of figures and photos, the generation of
data tables, and the organization of report printing. This individual will
be asked to work closely with various KAR staff members, clients, state
officials, and external service providers. Additional duties might include
archive maintenance, advance utility clearance (e.g., PA and NJ OneCall
notifications), and limited Internet research. A degree in anthropology is
not required (particularly for applicants with prior editorial experience),
but an understanding of the goals and methods of anthropological
archaeology in the framework of cultural resource management will be
helpful.

Interested parties should send a cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae,
references, and samples of writing and/or prior editorial work to the
address listed below. Interviews will be conducted in July. The successful
applicant will be expected to begin employment 14 August 2000.
