I have recently come across an excellent four-part series *The Past in
Peril* that covers a number of issues presented by this list's discussions.
 This series is published by _The Atlanta Journal-Constitution_ and can be
read on-line at: <www.accessatlanta.com/partners/ajc/read/071199/>.  It is
well worth reading.
