A Lord Martine, in reviewing the SFO production of *Giuseppe* Puccini's
"La Boheme" (an Italian opera), finds that it holds its own against "Rent"
which "had a profound impact" on his psyche. The date is today, the place
is the San Francisco Examiner (a newspaper).

There is no report on the singers' performance, but Mr. Martine -- after
several instances of "Rent" -- might not have heard them at all in the
SFO's discreet amplification. (Which, of course, is just a rumor anyway.)
