I want to also add my .02 cents worth regarding others clipping the
tongue who are not qualified or professionally trained. I agree with
Jean Cotterman completely. I have also been very frustrated with getting
the frenulum clipped over past years, but with  time  I am now seeing
this become easier in our area with more pediatricians giving the
referral or clipping themselves.This is considered a medical procedure,
and even if LC's were trained, I would still not do it from my
professional nurse background. We should leave it to the doctors or
nurse practitioners who have the training and licensure to cover this.
Remember, stay within the scope of  your practice. We are not to
diagnose medically or do such intervention. With time, education, & and
persistence you can impact the pendulum here.
