David and other Histarchers,
    Sorry for leaving out the jpegs in my earlier post (I have attached
them to this one).  Furthermore, a listmember pointed out (off list)
that "Bennington" ware was produced near Augusta in South Carolina, so
that is the likely source of the teapot.

    My ignorance is remarkable, but I am trying to learn the types and
if there are further suggestions as to how this teapot relates to those
wares that have been mentioned in this thread, I would still like to
hear about it.
