There is another subject that is near and dear to my heart. Alas, most
branches of the Dallas Public Library do not hold any recordings for
circulation. I think this a crime. If it weren't for the small public
library in New Castle, IN (pop. 17,000), I wouldn't know half the music
that I know. I am forever grateful that they stocked (and they still do
thank heavens0 a large number of classical cds. (records then) an allow
them to circulate. I would encourage listers who sometimes cull their
collections to consider donating them to the public library for the tax
deduction rather than selling them. You have no idea what a great gift it
was for me and many like me to have acces to those recordings as a child.
