I was in error regarding Gyorgy Kurtag's death.  It was Zsolt Durko (b.
1934) who died within the past two years.  Regrettably his music is not
well enough known in the US.  I conducted a poetic and moving concertante
work for solo horn and mixed septet, "Iconographie 2" six or seven years
back; William Purvis played the incredibly difficult solo part with
effortless grace.
