In response to Mr. Stewart (and I hope I'm not beating a dead horse):

I hope you don't get too much heat for this one, because I have to agree.
Certainly your statements hold true for many things said about other
composers on this list as well.  If we want to base opinions of off
popularity and fame we can read the billboard chart.  I do think he is
good at what he does, and it seems as if you agree--for the right reasons,
I might add.  I remember not too long ago that our band conductor had told
a group of high school students that were at the uni for a camp that "John
Williams will be looked at as one of the greatest twentieth-century
composers."  Honestly, I don't think he believes that, but was merely
feeding the teenagers' mouths with a name they already knew and perhaps
adored.  Then again, he may end up being viewed as one of the greatest
twentieth century composers, at least in the eyes of popular culture.
