There is a series on BBC2 (TV) entitled Masterworks. It's all British
Masterworks from the 20th century, and sofar it has been Elgar's Cello
Concerto, Walton's Belshazzar's feast (sp?) and Britten's Serenade for
tenor and Horn. The first part of the programmes has been about the life and
works of the composer. After a bit of rehearsing, they play the announced
work.

I wasn't to impressed by Andrew Davies and the cellist (Paul ....) I missed
the Walton program, but the Britten program was very good with Sir Colin
Davies, Ian Bostridge and Roger ......?

Next up is Harrison Birtwistle and "The Triumph of Time".

Don't you get the feeling that a certain "major" composer is missing, or
have I missed something? Who is responsible for the selection? Michael
Berkeley?

Mikael
