Maybe he just wanted to make sure that Mozart was dead and gone. I think
he poisoned Mozart with the goal of passing Mozart scores off as his own.
He then figured to win the favor and hand of a beautiful opera singer
(female). Without the benefit of autopsies, getting away with murder
was much easier in those days. I love a good murder mystery.
