        The World Health Organization has published a great book that I have
just discovered: "Evidence for the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding"
1998. A literature search was done to find studies relating to each of the 10
steps. For the most part only randomized controlled studies and controlled
studies where allocation was systemic or when a before/after design was used
are included. There are wonderful tables where results from the studies are
compared.
        This book is a bargain for the price is extremely reasonable. Call
