I was at a conference in Hillsboro, OR in May, where we heard a researcher
speak who has been part of the team that is developing the new WHO growth
charts. I can't recall ner name (Chris Hafner-Eaton, can you help?), but in
one of her lectures, she stated that her research had found that women with
higher body fat index (i.e, fatter women) produce milk with higher fat
content, consistently. If the baby is allowed to regulate the frequency and
duration of feedings, then the baby will self- regulate as to the total
amount of fat consumed.
