I'm posting for a colleague....

I need to find out about the compatibility of breastfeeding while taking
the drug Enbrel. It is not listed in Dr. Hale's book.

Enbrel is a drug, category B that is FDA approved that is used in women
with natural killer cell mediated autoimmune diseases. It prevents the
release of tumor necrosis factor alpha by tissue resident NK cells whether
the NK cells are in the joints, bowel, other organs or the uterus. Some
women with infertility and implantation failures have resident nk cells in
the uterus which much be suppressed. This can be done with enbrel 25 mg
every 4 days by subcutaneous injection, started a month before the cycle of
conception.

Enbrel can also be used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Please cc your responses to me as I tend to get behind in Lactnet postings.
