HIV LOAD IN BREAST MILK AND MASTITIS MAY INCREASE VERTICAL
TRANSMISSION RISK
Detectable levels of HIV-1 in breast milk, along with the presence of
mastitis, appear to increase the risk of vertical transmission through
breastfeeding, according to a multinational team of investigators.
