Yes, Franck's d-minor symphony is often noted for it's cyclic form
wherein themes from the first two movements return in the third. It is
hardly the only example of this technique--the peroration of Bruckner's 8th
symphony comes to mind immediately as another example, as do the thematic
recollections between the cello/bass recitatives of the Beethoven 9th.
With Mahler and Schumann one even finds material from one symphony quoted
in another.
