The Beatles were given a little discussion on this list a week or two,
and I happened to be spinning a disk of theirs (well, actually, it's my
disk...but their voices come out of my player...) this afternoon.

George Martin, their fabled producer (and sometime arranger/performer),
either just recently retired or is retiring very shortly. There's little
doubt that he contributed to the Beatles' artistic success in a big way.

It's always mentioned that he was also a producer at Abbey Road (and
elsewhere?) of classical music. I'm curious...did he do anything
distinguished/interesting/etc as a classical music producer?

Thanks,
William
