The word "cool" has some subtle connotations. Unruffled. Slightly
dangerous. Anti-establishment. Not too concerned with appearances.
Laid back. Undemonstrative and unemotional.

I can hardly wait until Pop and Jazz become identified with the
establishment. That's the day classical music becomes cool. (Or *could*
become cool if there weren't a lot of hard***** being dogmatic about how
it should be--like me, I guess!)

You can't work at being cool--at least, you can't appear to work at being
cool.

At least one thing is working for us; we're in the minority. Cool people
are always in the minority.
