The comments on Mehta are interesting.  I've never been impressed with
his conducting, until this last New Years Concert from Vienna.  That was
the first time.  The orchestra seemed to play quite well, and even more,
I enjoyed the concert.  That surprised me since my opinion has been
consistent with those of many others on this list.  He doesn't do anything
for me.

Or is the credit to the composers and atmosphere of that concert?

Frankly, I'm more curious where Abbado will be going.  He is a conductor I
greatly enjoy.
