Earlier I recommended The Tails of Hoffman in the Naxos historical
series....

This recording of The Tales of Hoffmann features Lawrence Tibbett as all
three villans and is conducted by Maurice de Abravanel.  The other singers
in the cast are Vina Bovy, Rene Maison and Angelo Bada.
