Giuliano Finessi wrote concerning Zubin Mehta:

Right - as with his recent recording of Turandot.

I thought that substitution was completed a few years ago - maybe that was
only in my mind.

I don't see a conflict between live and recorded music. Each has its
advantages, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to make choices
between the two or partake of both. Is Mehta better live than in the
studio? I haven't a clue. Could somebody send me sample photographs of him
conducting before an audience and in the studio? I'll be able to tell from
the looks on his face which venue he prefers. I'm very good at reading
faces.
