I have got in my private collection the three versions of "Die Kunst der
Fuge".

organ version played by Karol Golebievski (wonderful Frobenius organ
from Evangelic Church in Kristianstad, Sweden) on Selene label (CD's
   9307.14)
Keller Quartet version on ECM label (457 849-2)
and finally orchestral version played by Vienna Symphonic Orch., Hermann
Scherchen on Universal (BMG) label (MCD 80352)

All these ones are excellent but my favourite is the Scherchen version
which is full of taste and unparalleled climate. Almost each of the
"contrapunctus" creates (in this performance) its own mood: sometimes
merry, sometimes pompous, pathetic and full of darkness.

Simply ... do listen to it.

Regards

Ted
