You're quite right, it's (as with much of Schubert's output) lovely music.
I like Gidon Kremer and Elena Bashkirova (aka Mrs Daniel Barenboim, I
think) on a 70s Philips recording.  Not sure if it's still available, might
be out of circulation...  hopefully temporarily.
