Well this was Hemel Hempstead, UK, hardly a great metropolis.

c1985.  Our local store was doing a good deal in consignment for selected
customers who were ditching their LPs and going totally CD (idiots!)

I picked up - at the same daft price - inter alia the haitink Bruckner
cycle, Rachmaninov playing Chopin and much else.  At the time most of this
stuff was *not* available on CD....
