The piece in question is indeed by Chabrier - he wrote it after a 7 month
holiday in Spain with his family.  Enchanted by the music, he wrote Espana.
I am almost entirely convinced of this, as I am currently studying Music in
France c.1890-1930 - Espana is indeed Chabrier's foremost claim to fame.
