I was never more than a wretched pianist, but from my general experience
in learning musical instruments I would point out that, in the course of
learning to play any instrument, certain muscles have to be developed,
just as they are strengthened in any sport or form of exercise.  Thus, any
beginning inequality of strength in the hands and arms (and fingers) would
have long been erased by the time one got to the level of a Richter.
