Weren't the engineers working with the printed sheet music?

One of my favorite editing gaffs (at least that's what I suppose it is)
involves the last chord left off in the Myelodiya/Angel release of
Scriabin's "Divine Poem" (alias Symphony #3) with Svyetlanov conducting.
A splendid and transporting recording in all other respects.
