There was on Classic FM (best described as the classical music for peasants
radio station in the UK) a 100 best works thing, where people would email,
phone, fax etc their 3 favourite pieces in and a list was compiled of the
100 best works.  What I would like to know is, given that the first and
second 'best' were Bruch Violin Concerto and Rachmaninov 2nd Piano concerto
respectively, what would a more informed bunch of people vote for?

Anyway, my three were:

1. Bach's Mass in B minor
2. Mozart's 23rd Piano Concerto
3. Mahler's Symphony No. 2

Quite a nice range?
