I never ask for advice either; I get that from list members.  Here in
Albuquerque, there is one store employee who is very knowledgeable; all
others haven't a clue.  That's readily clear from the way they stock the
music.

The other point I'd like to make is that nobody knows it all.  The one
knowledgeable employee in this town is ignorant of period instrument
recordings; when a customer asks him about Bach, Handel, etc., he always
steers the customer toward modern instrument performances - doesn't even
mention the alternative.  Overall, it's best to know what you're doing once
you enter a store.
