Nikolai is the grandfather, and Alexander is the father of Ivan, who died
last April.  Of interest to those tracking influences on composers, Ivan's
mother, Lee Hsien-Ming, was Chinese and born in China.  (According to the
obits, she was the first female pianist to graduate from Shanghai
Conservatory.)
