C. Davis was in an official position, Permanent Guest Conductor or
something like that.  There was one wonderful concert on a Friday afternoon
when he conducted Berlioz, I think it was a concert performance of Beatrice
and Benedict.  The audience was noisy and Davis stopped, turned to the
audience, and said, (sic) "You really should listen carfully, I doubt
you'll ever hear this music performed so well again in our lifetimes."
Probably right.

By the way, I have more of his recordings with the BSO, than I have with
Ozawa.
