She might have had low-grade postpartum thyroiditis for two years, and it
just now got to the symptomatic-enough-to-go-to-the-doctor stage.  Beta
blockers are okay, especially if it's propranolol she's on.  Just be sure
the scan that she gets is done with technicium-99 ( pump & dump time =
24-30 hours) as opposed to iodine-131 (pump & dump time = up to 42 days).
Alot of women don't know to request this.
