The fist time I heard Brahms 1st it was with Kempf.  Afterwards I bought
the record - but lost it a few years later.  The orchestra must have been
the Berliner.  I do not remember anymore the name of the conductor.  It is
still one of the best performances I ever heard.  I hope it is in the best
pianists of the century release by Philips.
