"Death in Venice" also featured the Nietzsche movement from Mahler 3.  A
Hungarian film called "Father" (1960's, directed by Szabo Istvan (sp?) used
the third movement from Mahler 1 with its rhythm converted into swing
8th-notes.

Although this probably isn't standard practice, the local production of
"Angels In America 2" here in Fort Worth used the two swatches from the
Mahler 8th symphony, including one use of the opening when one of the
characters ascended to heaven.
