One of the memorable student reviews of an Indiana University Opera theater
production (I think it was one of the Mozart operas) mentioned that "the
second clarinetist created a continuous disturbance by constantly rummaging
through her purse." We wondered why the reviewer was watching the orchestra
to begin with.
