I recently acquired a disc of John Ireland chamber works on ASV. It
contains his Sextet for clarinet, horn, and string quartet, and three
works for piano trio. The sextet is a great piece and as comforting as
the Brahms clarinet works I noted earlier. The other works on the disc
aren't far behind. I'm very impressed with Ireland; ASV is releasing a
disc of his string quartets, and I'll be looking for it.

Based on list member response, I never knew there were so many comforting
works. That's good. I don't know about you, but I need them.
