And I thought mine was the only one... :-)
I describe my older son's nursing behavior as nursing for 1 1/2 hours every
2 hours for the first 3 mos, turning red in the face and working up a sweat.
As the feed progressed, he would get wide-eyed & let go, burp up a dollop of
milk, then demand to nurse again until he passed out & fell asleep -
briefly. It was like he was convinced he would never be fed again - this
feed was his last and he was going to make the most of it. Knowing what I
know now, I likely had oversupply. He was 8 lb 13 oz at birth and about 26
lb at 6 mos of age. Then he began solids! No ABM at all - ever. I don't
think there was a problem with getting enough of the fatty hind milk.
Someone mentioned the hot flashes as being related to allergies. My son did
have bronchitis attacks which gradually lessened as he grew up. We never
knew of any specific cause and he is the only one of my three to have it.
Does this compare to what the original writer was observing?
