Hi  to all, Just wanted to share some good news for a change. After working
Thanksgiving and had three babies going home with first time mothers and not
nursing, I was very concerned. Fortunately, the mothers were all renting pumps
due to this situations, cup or soft eye dropper fed infants their expressed
colostrum if there was no latch. I won't go into the care plan  Then to my
amazement, I was able to get two home care agencies with IBCLC LC's to do home
visits covered by the insurance companies. Then they called me to let me know
that all the babies are starting to latch and either gained weight or stayed
the same since yesteerday. We routinely call the mothers in 48 hours but a
first time I got the calls. This has been an ongoing project to network
together. To get these referals I had to speak to the Doctors and give
explanation. As long as the baby would get food one way or the other they were
happy. I always call a Doctor and ask if he is agreeable with this plan and
have failed to get a no answer. Communication and networking is essential and
I feel very fortunate. Hope this is uplifting as it was meant to be .
