Joy, there is a current study happening at the Western Australia
Institute for Child Health and Research on the association between
exclusive BF and Asthma prevention.  The girl who is doing it is
Wendy Oddy and she presented her findings so far at a seminar
held in Perth on 14 July.  I don't know if the institute is on line, it
may be worth a try.  Otherwise I will sift through my notes from the
seminar (there were no handouts) and see what I can find for you.
The study is not finished yet, but the results are great.
