Well, here I am again with another inquiry. This has been great to post
questions and get responses. It is great to know there is such a wealth of
knowledge out there. My current question/problem is this:
A mom who has a 5 week old, developed increasing nipple soreness at 2 wks pp
She was seen by a colleague and no symptoms of thrush were noted and position
at breast was observed and corrected slightly.
We are now 2 weeks later and still having sore nipples , I suggested
antifungal cream to her nipples. A well meaning MD prescribed antibiotics at
the time for ????? breast infection, of which I saw no signs of.
Now her breasts burn before , during and after feedings.
The dr. prescribed Diflucan because he felt the yeast infection was in her
breasts
Makes sense tro me , since I can not figure out what else would cause that .
Thought about refilling pain but it seems to be all the time .
How long will it take for her to feel relief if it is yeast in the breast?
She has taken it for 48 hours without much help. She is determined to make it
work and I would like to help her . Any other thoughts or further
suggestions????
Thanks Again, Amy W.
