This is the little note I emailed to State Farm. And I am looking for a
new insurance company as well. How ironic to insure my LC office with a
company that promotes abm!
"As a State Farm home, auto and business insurance customer, I am very
concerned to hear that State Farm is promoting Mead Johnson infant
formula. This is a violation of the World Health Organizations Code re:
Marketing of Breast Milk Substitutes, of which the United States is a
signatory. The research is clear that breastfeeding is the best
nutrition and immunological protection for human babies, and that
formula promotion to the public undermines breastfeeding. I urge you to
reconsider using your customer database in this way. I eagerly await a
reply on this issue.
Thank you,
Catherine Watson Genna, IBCLC"
